RapidForm services
Prototype larger plastic parts and assemblies...
in plastic.
|
What is it?
RapidForm is a complementary alternative to other RP processes. When
the size-envelope of your product parts or enclosures becomes too great, or you need
multiple copies (but cannot cost-justify castings or
tooling), RapidForm
can be your best option for product conceptualization and design evaluation.
Employing a high-precision thermoforming process to
simulate various plastics molding methods (including injection-molding, blow
molding, extrusions, rotocasting, etc.), RapidForm
parts are tough. Yet they have
a very high level of detail and precision to such a degree that they are
often mistaken for production plastic parts.*

|
Why RapidForm?
 |
For
multiple quantities and/or larger size envelopes, RapidForm
can result in significant cost savings over using other RP processes. |
 |
Real
plastic parts (in ABS, Polystyrene, etc.) best simulate the look, feel and
often the performance of production plastic parts. |
 |
Fast
turn-around. |
 |
Iterative
fabrication process allows for subsequent one-off tweaks and part
modifications without "starting over". |
 |
Sanding, filling and painting is
unnecessary for many applications.

* RapidForm
is a high-precision thermoforming process for the
purpose of conceptualization and product design
evaluation. While often used to simulate
injection-molded parts and assemblies, RapidForm
favors parts that do not initially require many underside features.
However, some features, such as screw bosses and
rib supports, can be added as needed.
